Rainbow Sherbet Cake

I've had several requests for this recipe since I posted it for Luke's birthday so here are the very simple instructions. I think I found it in Taste of Home.

• Angel food cake (purchased, from a mix or from scratch)
• 2 pints sherbet, softened
• 12 oz. container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Slice angel food cake horizontally to make three layers. Place the bottom layer on a plate, and spread sherbet evenly on top. Repeat with second layer and second sherbet flavor. Finish with final layer of cake. Frost sides and top with whipped topping. Freeze until firm.

I've also seen it done in 4 layers with three different flavors of sherbet.

This is really refreshing in the summertime.
